Hockey

U16 Surrey Tournament

U16 T3 Surrey Champions 2024

The girls travelled to Woking Hockey Club to play in the County Round of the England Hockey Tier 3 School competition.

ND v Tormead

First up were Tormead, we pressed really well and took an early lead. The game continued in the same manner with us dominating the territory, we also won several short corners where we finally scored the second goal to give us some cushioning.
Final score 2-0 victory!

ND v Gordon’s

Next up were Gordon’s. A number of our girls had played against their 1st team a few weeks ago so were focused and ready for a tough game. Again, we pressed really well and kept the ball in our attacking half, a few early chances went begging. The girls then focused ensuring players were in the right places and the goals came, a number from open play and penalty corners.
Final score 5-0 win!

ND v SWPS

Knowing we had already qualified, as had SWPS, this game was all about classification. We had a superior goal difference so SWPS had to win. They went out hard and caused our defence a bit of trouble, but with some great link up play we were able to take the lead. The game was very evenly matched with us getting that second goal cushion just before the half time whistle. Second half SWPS started strong and were rewarded with a well worked goal. The rest of the game was very even with the Final score 2-1 win!

The girls were ecstatic, 3 wins from 3, Surrey Champions and through to the regional finals.

U13 & U12 V Feltonfleet

U12 and U13 Hockey v Feltonfleet

We hosted Feltonfleet’s 1st and 2nd teams against both our As and Bs while the C and D teams went over the road to play their 3rd and 4th teams away.
At home the girls fought really well and special mention has to go to Amelia D in goal, but Feltonfleet were very strong.
Away at Feltonfleet the games were really evenly matched. The small difference being in the attacking circle, where Feltonfleet were a lot more clinical across both pitches.
A great day of matches enjoyed by all but a unanimous win by FF.

U14 v Lingfield

On Monday the U14s had two 11-aside teams that played Lingfield. The girls played some fantastic hockey against a very good Lingfield side but both games were tied in a draw. Our most valuable players of the game were Poppy in goal and Hettie upfront in attack.

U15/15 Mixed Team v SWPS

A great 2-0 win for our mixed u15/14 team against SWPS U15s last night. Goals for Bailey and Ester and MVP for Poppy and Freya
