U13 v SWPS
It was great to see all four teams on court this week. There were some good performances and the girls all enjoyed their matches.
A Team
A great result for our A Team against tough opposition.
ND 22 – SWPS 16
MVP – Lexi H
B Team
This was a tough game for our girls as SWPS brought a very strong B team which showed from the start of the game. However, the girls didn’t give up and showed some good skills towards the end of the game, the last quarter being the best.

This was a really close game with the lead changing all the time until SWPS managed to take the game in the last quarter!

Head of Netball appointed Head Coach for Republic of Ireland U17 team.
Mrs Hook has been appointed as the Head Coach for the Republic of Ireland U17 team to take a final squad of 12 to the Europe Championships which will be held in Belfast, Northern Ireland from 5 – 9 March 2025 to compete against other nations in the region including potentially England, Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland, UAE, France, Switzerland, Israel.
‘This is such an honour and privilege to have been asked to lead an international side as Head Coach for the first time. I am more than aware of the responsibility that goes with the development of such young athletes who hopefully will go on to represent their country many times in the future. Nurturing the talent and ensuring they all develop into leaders both on and off the netball court is just a small part of the role. Having played for England myself 33 times, the lessons I learnt as an athlete have helped shape me into the person I am today and I look forward to being able to provide the opportunity for these girls to achieve their potential.
I would like to thank Notre Dame School in particular for offering the U17 Republic of Ireland complementary use of the sports hall for our up and coming training sessions, we are very grateful for the generous support of the school community. Hosting our training at Notre Dame may give me the opportunity to invite a team from Notre Dame to a training session to play against the Republic, a chance to play an international side which is not an every day occurrence of course. Notre Dame really understands the value of supporting sport and how it develops young athletes in so many more ways than just as netballers.’
Appropriate Netball Trainers:
As the winter months approach, it is even more important that the girls wear appropriate footwear for netball both in Games and at After School Clubs. These specifically designed shoes help protect ankles and knees from the impact experienced in netball, providing better grip and ensuring the girls are able to fully participate. If anyone would like any specific advice on netball trainers then please drop me an email on lhook@notredame.co.uk.
