Languages

The aim is to promote a love of languages and build up their confidence so they can develop the skills to communicate in a foreign language.

In Early Years and KS1, this is achieved through songs and games, whilst in KS2 the lessons are more focussed on oral and written work. While the teaching in KS2 is more formal, all activities aim to be engaging, fun and relevant for the children. A particular favourite is the pen pal programme with a Company of Mary school in Spain; this has proven to be a very engaging way to get the students to write in Spanish.
