Surrey Schools Team Championships
Last Saturday evening Team ND competed in the Surrey Schools Team Championships at Guildford Spectrum.
The girls swam brilliantly against some tough competition (GHS!).
The Junior girls. Alex B, Charis W, Emma F, and Martha T got the silver medal in the front crawl relay and bronze in the medley relay.
The senior girls. Ciara S, Alexia W, Darcy L and Emily S won a bronze medal in the front crawl relay and just missed on a medal in the medley relay.
Hopefully we will be asked to compete in the National Secondary School Team Championships in Birmingham in November.

Netball
U18 A and B Tournament at St Teresa’s
Notre Dame U18 A and B were in action for the first time this season playing in a netball tournament at St Teresa’s (Away).
U18A
Players: Sophia, Carmen, Jemima, Milena, Emily, Sophie (captain), Izabel and Yasmin.
For most of these players, this was the first netball event since the end of last season and overall the players were all extremely competitive with a great team ethos. U18 A played 5 matches with a good win over Rosebery and losses by only one goal to St Teresa’s and Tormead. Overall the team won 1, lost 4. The team showed great flexibility in rotating changes and working hard to win ball across the court. Lots of positives to take away into the next match.
V St Teresa’s 6 – 7 loss
V Freemans 7 – 16 loss (this was the second best result against Freemans out of the 6 teams competing)
V SWPS 6 – 19 loss
V Rosebery 10 – 3 win
V Tormead 5 – 6 loss
U18 B
Players: Bea, Annalisa, Mia, Layomi, Lilly, Ellie (Captain) and Eve.
With fewer shooters and defenders in the squad, all players rotated in many court positions and showed great resilience as a team, in particular Lilly played 5 out of 7! The team did extremely well at working out how best to play together and the quality of netball just got better and better as the tournament progressed which was a credit to all players and resulted in the team winning the final game of the event against St Teresa’s. A display of teamwork and commitment.

U12 A, B and C v Tormead 27 September 2023 (Home)
The matches against Tormead were the first time the U12’s had taken to the court for a netball match this season. All players who represented the 3 teams have been working hard at every lunchtime and after school netball club showing a huge amount of commitment and team spirit. There was much to be proud of in all 3 matches.
U12 A
A very close and hard-fought match by the whole of the U12 A team who put in to practice so much of what they have learnt in the first 3 weeks of term. They very much deserved to take the win in a highly competitive game 9-8. The win was a result of a whole team performance by all 7 players, well done.
U12 B
The U12B team put in real hard work in their overall match, as the game progressed the team kept improving throughout the court. Tormead were extremely successful in the first half of the match and went into the half time break leading by 6 goals to 1. However, Notre Dame’s B team back out further focused and began to find their rhythm and confidence on the court ending up with the second half of the match very close with a 7 – 6 win to Tormead. So whilst the overall score was 13 – 7, the U12B team showed their potential particularly in the second half.
U12 C
A tough but hard fought first game for the U12 C team, the result did not reflect the competitive approach and determination shown by all players. Whilst the final result was a win to Tormead 9 – 1, the C team showed how hard they have been working in netball training with a great effort to put pressure on the opposition up and down the court.

Hockey
Hockey Girls-U15A vs Prior’s Field School
Due to the traffic the game was a shorter game than normal for the U15s, but they were raring to go.
As soon as the whistle went the girls were off, moving the ball between each other, building connections and working their way up the pitch, and they were rewarded very early on with a goal. The girls continued to play lovely fluid passing hockey going forward with some strong defensive work across the board. Alexa was called into action to make some crucial saves to keep a clean sheet and all the attacking work paid off with the final score 4-0.
Darcey started off her scoring for the season and Olivia B impressively scored herself a hat-rick! The player of the match for a solid performance at the back went to Chloe C.

A really close fought match between the two sides and some great football on show!
Team ND came away with a narrow 2-1 victory!
