Surrey Schools’ Cross-Country Championships
Last Saturday we had a number of girls selected to represent North-East Surrey at the Surrey Schools’ Cross-Country championships held at Priory Park in Reigate. On a cold but sunny morning it was great to see the running talent within the county and to witness some excellent races. In the Year 7 race we had 5 girls representing the district – Poppy O, Steph J, Ava M, Caitlin M + Charis W and all ran well in a field of 93 runners, with Poppy managing an excellent 13th place. As a result of Poppy’s top 20 finish she has now been selected to represent Surrey and compete at the South East meeting (Surrey v Hampshire v Kent v Sussex v Essex v Berkshire) at the end of March in Tonbridge and we wish her well in this. In the Junior Girls event (combined Yrs 8 + 9) Olivia B came midway in a field of 91 runners and in the Senior Girls race (combined Yrs 12 + 13) Emily S ran strongly. Congratulations to all seven girls for some excellent performances and for representing North-East Surrey.

Tennis
I played at Bromley tennis centre all weekend under 16 grade 3. I had 4 very tough matches before reaching the final. The final was also tough with a final score of 6-3 6-4. Sadly another loss, but all positive things coming out of it. Hopefully next time it will be gold!
