Netball
Surrey Storm Netball Match- Saturday
Last Saturday a group of Year 5 and 6 girls attended a Super League Netball Match at Surrey Sports Park. Surrey Storm v Strathclyde Sirens. It was such an exciting games with the score 27-27 at half time and then Storm sneaking ahead to win by 3 goals at the final whistle. The girls thoroughly enjoyed it, seeing all the skills there have learnt played at the highest level and gaining a better understanding of the game. There was also an opportunity for the girls to meet the players and ask for autographs.
I hope this experience has inspired them.
Cricket
U11A-D Cricket v Downsend
On Tuesday 3rd May the U11 girls took part in their first cricket match on the season against Downsend School.
The girls played fantastic cricket with fours and sixes being hit as well as wickets bowled. It was great to see the girls putting all they have learnt into practise. The B and C teams both lost their games with the D team winning!
The A team played a Hybrid game of softball and hard ball. Those girls who had their own pads and helmets were able to face a hard ball when batting and all other girls faces a soft ball. It was a great experience for the girls and lovely way to introduce them to the hard ball game.
A wonderful afternoon of U11 Cricket and some girls experiencing the Hardball game. Fantastic skills on show and a great start to the season.
