Silver DofE Assessment
The Silver DofE Group completed their assessed Canoe expedition 28th-30th June. They worked so brilliantly together navigating and paddling the beautiful middle section of the Thames. Over the three days they canoed from Abingdon to Henley-on-Thames. They had a brilliant time, completed their group goals and their artwork was a masterpiece!, cooking and camping out riverside. Very well done to Tatum, Maddie, Ava and Caitlin.
Gold DofE Practice Expedition
On the 1st- 4th June, the Gold DofE group took to the water for their practice expedition. Again in Canoes the girls had the massive task of paddling and being self sufficient for 4 days and 3 nights. This time the group were based on the river Dart and Dart Estuary. This allowed the girls to access flat, moving and open water to upskill the team’s canoeing skills and allow them to have the additional Gold level training. They learned about rafted canoes, canoe sailing, control in slow-moving rivers and navigation in less rural areas.
They did fantastically well and I look forward to Molly, Lara, Millie, Bea and Holly completing their Gold expedition in October in the Wye Valley.
Well done both groups- who did Notre Dame proud!
