On Monday evening we were delighted to have the grand opening of our new multi-million-pound investment: The ND Innovation Space.
This inspiring, state-of-the-art building sits at the centre of the Senior School and is designed to enhance the School’s focus on STEM provision within its dynamic curriculum.
Students will design rockets with advanced CAD software, build robots using laser cutters, and produce podcasts and films with the latest green-screen technology. It
ensures that cutting-edge tools are available to all, across the whole curriculum, not just restricted to specialist subjects.
Guests including staff, alumnae and parents were welcomed by Mrs King and the Chair of Governors, Simon Frost to celebrate the grand opening alongside the architects, designers and contractors who made this impressive space possible. An array of exciting activities and equipment were demonstrated during the evening, as well as refreshments and celebratory drinks served within the space.
Following speeches from Mrs King and Simon Frost, Fr. Daryl blessed our new building. Former Head Girl, Holly Fletcher, who is studying Engineering at Cambridge and Sr Maria Quinn ODN, a former Senior School Science teacher, were then invited to cut the ribbon.
