U15 Hockey v Downsend

Hockey

U15 v Downsend

U15 Hockey v Downsend

The girls played extremely well and had a very competitive game against Downsend’s Senior team. The girls took the lead 1-0 but Downsend managed to get a goal back to be 1-1 at half time. Second half this repeated with us taking the lead and Downsend bouncing back with a goal. Both teams had some very good chances with the GKs making match winning saves at both ends. Unfortunately just before the end Downsend managed to find a way past to take the win 3-2.

U13 A-D v Lingfield

Wednesday saw the cold come in but the pitches at both schools were playable for the afternoon of fixtures.
The Year 8 As fighting back for a win, and the Cs getting their first win. Both the Bs and Ds having really close games with both narrowly losing but players scoring their first goals in hockey which was excellent to see.

U12 A-D v Lingfield

Year 7s also had a mix of results with the As losing, the Bs and Ds drawing but the Cs coming out on top.

Good Luck

Year 8 have their Surrey Championships at St George’s today!

All other hockey has been frozen off.

Netball

Year 7 Netball:

It was disappointing for everyone that SWPS had to postpone our U12 A – D fixtures this week on Tuesday due to the poor weather. We are trying to get it rescheduled this side of Christmas so as always, please keep an eye on SOCS every week.

Year 9 and 10 Club

Year 9 and 10 Netball Club

It was a very cold night at Netball Club last night but look how many Year 9 and 10 girls turned up! So committed!

Next Week Fixtures:

28.11 U15/year 10 v St Catherines A – C, Home at Notre Dame, start time 4pm (subject as always to traffic).

Spring Term:

The focus for fixtures moves to netball in January (Autumn Term has been a focus on hockey fixtures although we have been able to continue to provide a comprehensive choice in our sports for Games, PE and after school clubs) so there will be a significant number of fixtures for teams so please ensure you check SOCS every week. There are many girls who are keen to represent our school and selection is always a challenge. If you are selected, please make sure you are available to play, all matches are in SOCS to it helps planning your time.

U17 Republic of Ireland Training:

The U17 ROI squad will be training at Notre Dame on three dates in the New Year. I hope to be able to select a strong squad to play against them at one of their training dates so watch this space!

U13

U13’s played some great football in some cold conditions. We took the game to 1-1 just after half time with a goal from Lottie W but unfortunately couldn’t get ourselves over the line, losing in the last 5 minutes of the game.
