Year 6 have been learning about World War II evacuees in their Humanities lessons and, in Drama, have explored the experiences of evacuee children through script work.
Today, they visited the Innovation Centre and recorded a scene using the green screen technology.
The Year 6 actors were recorded performing their scene in front of the screen, and the Senior School ICT team digitally superimposed a backdrop on the recorded footage.
Year 6 enjoyed experiencing acting for camera using the green screen, just like professional actors record scenes for film and television.
Despite not having performed in this environment before, they managed to record the scenes in very few takes. It was a terrific experience for them and they look forward to the opportunity of working with this technology when they move to Senior School next year.
