This week’s assembly was all about Children’s Mental Health Week
Miss Harris introduced the girls to this year’s theme – ‘Know Yourself, Grow Yourself’. She explained that getting to know your feelings is a wonderful way to grow and help yourself.
This week, we will be thinking a little more about our feelings and what we can do to help ourselves. We have series of activities planned:
- Classroom activities to help us think more about ourselves, our feelings, our likes, our dislikes and what makes us feel good.
- Feelings check-ins around the Prep School to help us reflect on how we are feeling and how to help ourselves.
- A weekly schedule of playground activities, to help us feel regulated, relaxed and calm.
- A selection of books in the library and in the corridor selected by Mrs Kewley, specifically to help with regulating our feelings.
- Your very own classroom feelings check in station, to help you think about how you are feeling, and how you can help yourself.
- Activity Break (Monday – Wednesday) viewing of the film Inside Out, in Mrs Tait’s classroom.
