Last week, the Maths Ambassadors were asked to bring a buddy to BINGO!
Bingo stimulates many cognitive areas including attention, focus, concentration, and immediate memory. It involves visual and auditory perception, and it requires accurate motor movement to mark off the Bingo card. Mrs Davies got to practise her Bingo calling signs including her favourite “Legs Eleven”!
Here are several reasons why bingo is a great game for children and why our Maths Ambassadors love to play it:
1. Simplicity and Structure
Bingo is easy to set up, understand and play, making it accessible for children of various ages. The rules are straightforward and simple which ensures that children can quickly grasp the game and start playing with minimal instructions.
2. Engagement and Fun
The game’s format is inherently exciting, especially when children are competing to complete a row, four corners or full house. The anticipation of winning keeps them engaged, especially when there are prizes to be won!
3. Promotes Fair Play
The random nature of the game ensures that everyone has an equal chance of winning, promoting fairness and sportsmanship. Our girls are great at celebrating others’ successes and handle disappointment gracefully, fostering a positive attitude toward competition.
