On Thursday afternoon, Notre Dame hosted the annual ERPSSA Dance Festival in our beautiful Montaigne Theatre. Six schools participated, and it was heartwarming to witness the enthusiasm of all the dancers, many of whom were competing for the first time! The event was a true celebration of dance.
The theme for this years event was DETERMINTATION.
Notre Dame’s entry was entitled Unseen Strength:
Our dance for the competition, themed around determination, was inspired by Chris McCausland, the 2024 winner of Strictly Come Dancing and the first blind contestant to win the show. The performance symbolised the immense challenges Chris faced and how, with the unwavering support of his dance partner, he triumphed against all odds. To authentically capture this spirit, our solo dancer, Eva, learned the entire choreography blindfolded, giving her a glimpse into the experience of dancing without sight. The dance is a tribute to resilience, partnership, and the incredible power of determination.
Well done, girls! Your performance was truly inspiring, and we are incredibly proud of each and every one of you. We look forward to showcasing this piece to the school and parents in events later in the year.
