ALUMNAE ADVISE ON CAREERS ABROAD

Alumnae Advise on Careers Abroad

Our ND6 students were treated to another of our popular Careers Pathway sessions recently, this time featuring alumnae advising on what it’s like to live and work overseas.

The sessions – which take part several times each term – enable the girls to get first-hand advice on everything from work experience and volunteering to turning challenges into opportunities.

First to join us online from Milan was fluent Italian speaker Claudia Edwards, who works as Global Social Media Community Manager at EssilorLuxottica in Italy. Claudia, who left ND6 in 2018, talked about the importance of engaging in extracurricular interests that don’t just look good on your CV, but develop you as a person and spark interest in a job interview.

Next to dial in from South Africa was Lucy Bond, who left ND6 in 2016 and now lives and works in South Africa as a volunteer with children’s charity Liv. Founded in 2008, Liv is a group of nine purpose-built villages housing vulnerable and abandoned children. Lucy described how she loves volunteering and helping others, explaining her calling to fulfil her current role was very much based on her faith.

Sincere thanks to Claudia and Lucy for giving up their time to talk to the students. We wish them continued happiness in their careers.
