Sport beyond lessons at Notre Dame Senior School
Our inclusive ethos to Physical Education at Notre Dame encourages every girl to find enjoyment and challenge through sport. Girls are inspired to develop the qualities of commitment, co-operation and determination in their chosen sports and this will open up the opportunity to play for a competitive team. Gymnastics, dance and badminton clubs offer girls a chance to develop their skills in a recreational environment.
We also aim to promote a positive attitude towards participation in physical activities and to encourage a healthy active lifestyle after leaving school. Fitness activities are on offer both after school and in lunch hours making full use of the onsite facilities including a purpose built fitness suite.
The girls at Notre Dame thrive on the many opportunities to take part in competitive sport, with a strong house system as well as a full fixture programme of matches. Our girls even excel at international events and we currently have champion swimmers and athletes amongst our student body.
Each year our netball, rounders, athletics, tennis, swimming, biathlon and cross-country teams enjoy successes at local, county and national levels. A particular highlight is the hugely successful and popular bi-annual U17 Netball tour.
