Frequently Asked Questions

Do the Year 6 students have to sit the 11+ entrance exam to join the Senior School?

No, but they are assessed within the Prep School to make sure they will be able to thrive academically at Senior level; Senior School offers are made by the Senior Headmistress at the end of Year 6.

Prep pupils can choose to sit for an 11+ scholarship. If they apply for an academic scholarship, they sit the 11+ exam with our external candidates. Year 6 is therefore a teaching year without the need to lose time for 11+ preparation. We have high expectations and pupils are assessed throughout Year 6 to ensure standards are met. We prepare our students, both academically and pastorally, to join our Senior School and sit comfortably within the cohort, succeeding in the expectations of the Senior School.
