Celebrating Winnie the Pooh Day 18th January
Every year, the 18th January (A.A Milnes birthday) marks Winnie the Pooh Day, a celebration of one of the most beloved characters in children’s literature. This special day offers a perfect opportunity to reflect on the timeless charm and wisdom of A.A. Milne’s honey-loving bear, Pooh, and his loyal friends in the Hundred Acre Wood.
A Legacy of Friendship and Adventure
Winnie the Pooh was first introduced to readers in 1926 with Winnie-the-Pooh, and his adventures have continued to captivate generations ever since. The character was inspired by Milne’s own son, Christopher Robin, and his collection of stuffed animals, with Pooh being the star!
During Library Club this week, Children from Years 3, 4 and 5 have been working as a team to complete a Winnie the Pooh Honey Pot Escape Room!
The Wise Owls, Reception and Year 1 have learnt facts about Winnie the Pooh and have listened to the story of Winnie the Pooh Meets the King!
Year 2 explored The Complete Tales and Poems of Winnie the Pooh. They were intrigued to see an older book that has been handed down through generations within a Notre Dame family.
Further celebrations taking place next week!
We will be launching the Science Reading Challenge for the Juniors next Friday!
