This half term we are concentrating our efforts on how we spend our money wisely.
Our discussions this week led us to think about being a ‘Critical Consumer’.
We have already discussed that doing our research means we can secure the cheapest and best deals available, but it is also very important for us to consider where and who we are buying our goods from. Purchasing from a reputable company for example, will help in the case of any complaint. Knowing you are buying from shops that treat their employees and workers fairly is also a good reason to give them your custom even if their prices are a little higher.
We watched a helpful video on this subject, and we were asked to think about the following things to help us become ‘Critical Consumers’:
- Comparison websites will help us identify which providers have the best deals
- Customers should not be shy to leave a provider if they find a better deal elsewhere
- Customers always need to be very careful when locking themselves into a long-term contract. Always read the small print!
- It is important to look at customer reviews for an item to determine whether to buy it or not
- Reviews can also serve the purpose of answering questions that a new purchaser may have
We used examples of what we have our sights set on for Christmas using these top tips. Happy shopping girls!
