We were thrilled to welcome Chloé’s mummy and Grandma (visiting from Mexico) to the Year 3 classroom this week, where they brought a touch of Mexico to our Christmas celebrations!
Mrs PLP guided the girls through the creation of a traditional piñata from scratch, making the experience both fun and meaningful. The session was filled with creativity, laughter, and a wonderful opportunity to learn about the rich cultural heritage of Mexico.
The piñata, as Mrs PLP explained, holds a much deeper meaning than just a festive decoration or party game. Traditionally, the piñata symbolises the triumph of good over evil, with its bright colours representing the temptations we overcome. Breaking the piñata releases blessings, symbolised by the treats inside, reminding us of the rewards of faith, perseverance, and community.
We extend our heartfelt thanks to Mrs PLP and her mother for sharing their time, creativity, and cultural insights with us. Their visit made this festive season even more special for the girls.
¡Muchas Gracias!
