Prep Science Corner September 20th

Year 4 STEM Club

We had an exciting start to the year with Year 4 STEM Club! The girls explored the question: If you floated down a river, where would you end up? They engineered and tested paper boats, learning about rivers, currents, and engineering through hands-on fun!

Year 6 Science Club

Waterproof Hanky

Year 6 Science Club kicked off with an investigation into water surface tension! The girls explored how water behaves on different surfaces and tested the properties of waterproof hankies. It was a hands-on experiment that combined fun with fascinating discoveries about the science of water!

Year 6 Science Lesson

Light

Year 6 explored how light travels in straight lines to understand how objects are seen by giving out or reflecting light into the eye. The girls predicted which materials would make good reflectors and conducted experiments to test their theories. Some fascinating observations were made along the way!

Year 5 Science Lesson

Earth and Space

In Year 5, we are learning about the Solar System and even created a scaled model on our school playground. Despite heavy rain, 5L adapted their project and moved it into our spacious gym. Nothing can stop our curiosity or enthusiasm for exploring the universe!
