U12 Tormead Tournament

U12 Hockey Team at Tormead Tournament

On Tuesday the U12s competed at Tormead Hockey Tournament.

It was a slow and very congested start by both teams against KGS finishing with a 0-0 draw.

The second match was against St Teresa’s and after an early goal going in the girls fought back strong to win the game 2-1.

Last in the group to play were Farnborough Hill, where we controlled the game but were denied goals by some great goal keeping. Right at the death we converted a short corner to win 1-0.

This meant we came 2nd in the group on goal difference to KGS and therefore played Gordon’s who topped their pool.

A very even cup semi final with both teams creating chances but the result finishing 0-0 meant the girls went to a shootout. Some great skill by our outfielders and outstanding keeping from Amelia meant the shootout went to sudden death and on the 8th shootout we secured the win.

This meant we played KGS in the final for a rematch of the first game. Thankfully a much more entertaining game with both teams playing with much more structure. KGS, however, managed to squeeze the goal in to win the tournament 1-0.

Amelia was named player of the tournament for her outstanding goalkeeping!

Well played Team ND!
