ND 1st v Freemen’s

Wednesday we hosted City of London Freemen’s. The game started quite evenly with both teams getting circle entries but neither troubling the GKs.

Freemen’s had an excellent centre back who nulled a lot of our attacks. This then put them on more of a front foot and their continued pressure paid off and ended up scoring a goal. Freemen’s then doubled the score to go 2-0 up. Just before the half Emily managed to score a goal from a well worked penalty corner, to go in at half time 2-1 down. Half time we spoke about supporting each other a little more to make the connections easier and on turnover ensuring we do the hard yards early and reducing their counter attack. The girls absolutely smashed this and were rewarded with constant pressure in the attacking half. The rewards then continued with a second goal from Emily, a 1st team debut goal from Freya and the 4th goal to seal the win from Darcy. A great game that showed growth in our development as a team along with the individual skills.

Final score: Notre Dame 4 – Freemen’s 2.
