U14 C and D Netball v Claremont

Netball

U12 A – D v SWPS Away, 4.30pm.

U12 A Team

This was a good team performance by Notre Dame U12’s against a strong SWPS team. A definite learning point for our next matches is that the team need to be ready to play a bit quicker from the start. At half time we were 3 – 10 down but a strong second half by all 9 players saw us win that part of the match 6 – 4, a really positive result. Unfortunately the final score was 9 – 14 but a good opportunity to reflect on how well we played in the second half!!

MVP as voted by the opposition were Lily and Jemima.

U12 B Team

Yet another hard fought match saw us just lose out on a win by 4 – 6 goals! A consistent performance by all of the team who demonstrated a lot of positive teamwork, well done all!

MVP’s as voted by the opposition were Harriet and Amelie, congratulations both.

U12 C Team

It was a slow start, but we kept the score in Notre Dame’s favour. By half-time, we were leading 5-1.

Megan was in outstanding form, earning Player of the Match for her excellent shooting, confidently scoring from near the edge of the circle. Olive also received Player of the Match for her versatility across the midcourt and shooting circle, making a strong impact throughout the game.

Notre Dame secured a well-deserved 8-1 victory.

U12 D Team

SWPS completed a clean sweep of our teams with a win over our D team by 7 goals to 2 but it was a very spirited and hard working group of players who fought hard all the way to the end of the match.

MVP as voted by the opposition was Isla.

U14 A-D v Claremont

U14 A

A tough game with a very strong A team for Claremont saw the home take the win in a very dominant manner. Our A team put in a concerted effort but it wasn’t our day.

U14 B

The B team played really well against Claremont and the final score line which was a 15 – 22 loss doesn’t do the level of competitive netball justice in the match! A great match with Arina and Maya named MVP’s by the opposition.

U14 C and D Round Robin at Claremont

U14 C and D Netball v Claremont

Due to a shortage of players, Claremont only fielded one team to play both our C and D’s. The match was played as one game so all our players were on court for half the fixture, a great run out.

Some great defending by both C and D teams saw Erin (C) and Isabelle (D) named MVP’s by Claremont, both were really impressive and made a high number of interceptions.

A very close match which Claremont managed to take by 6 – 4 goals, credit to our all our 14 players today.

Hockey

Year 9 and 10 v SWPS

A Team

This was an end to end game. The girls were able to work on their transfers and connections going forwards and we won a few short corners. SWPS scored a few early goals but we were able to compete nicely and score a short corner and a nice outfield goal. The end result came to 4-2 but the girls have continued to improve and build their confidence.

Year 9 and 10 Fixture Bs v SWPS.

B Team

The girls went to SWPS to play a 7 aside fixture. Slightly challenged by not having a goal keeper, the girls adapted their formation for the extra outfielder. They started with a really good energy about them and played some lovely hockey rewarded with an early goal scored by Molly.

The girls stuck at it and battled well dominating the midfield but unfortunately conceded a goal just before half time.

During half time we spoke about playing harder to space and moving the ball quicker. Defensively being more aggressive and marking better in our circle.

They played excellently and pulled out some great saves from the SWPS keeper, goals in the second half game from Steph to take the lead, SWPS pulled one goal back but Jemima came through with the winning goal –  3-2 win as the final result.
