NEW SENIOR SPORTS INFORMATION EVENING & MEET NEW STAFF
Sport is incredibly important to us at Notre Dame and we know how important it is to you as parents and to the health and wellbeing of our students. Our philosophy of Sport for All is a commitment that we make to you as parents and we will keep building on this. We are committed to high level competitive sport as well as our sport for all programme and our Heads of hockey and netball are preparing a full fixture programme for next year.
Please do watch the recording of the presentation if you were unable to attend the live presentation on Wednesday evening. This has been uploaded to Firefly and can be seen by clicking on the collage below:
Fixtures
This year all of the sports fixtures can be found on our new calendar – SOCS
Outside School Sporting Success
We love to hear about your daughters’ achievements in sport outside school. Please do share any photos and news with us and we will include it in the Friday Mailing! (email lplummer@notredame.co.uk)
Netball
Hillcrest Tournament
On Saturday May 27th Amelia and Freya S’s team, with Shan netball training academy, came first in the adult Hillcrest Tournament winning all 6 games. The final game went into extra time but the team secured the win. Well done girls!
Rowing
Walton & Weybridge Regatta for Rachel
Congratulations to Rachel & her crew who won the J14 coxed quad division at the Walton & Weybridge Regatta (a mile long course which they have to row up to the start and then compete from the ‘blue bridge’ to Miskins Wharf). They easily won the qualifying and semi-final races but it was a very close final vs LEH, Walton beat them by 3/4 of a boat length.
National Schools Regatta 2023
Daisy S and her team (Molesey Boat Club) did so well in their time trials at Eton Dorney (she was coxing for the j15 girls quads and was so proud to have been asked given she’s a j13). The girls were strong all day and made the 6pm finals (we arrived at Eton for an 8am start – it was a LONG day!). Unfortunately they didn’t place in top 3 medal spots, despite improving their PB by 5 seconds. A very tight and hard-contested race with only 15 seconds between 6 boats. It was an INCREDIBLE experience, and she’s already chomping at the bit as she is allowed to row in the race from next year and has said she wants to up her training to ensure selection! She soaked in all the atmosphere and loved every second.
Swimming
Gold medal for Alex in the 800m
At the beginning of half term Alex B competed in a long distance gala in Maidenhead and won a gold in the 800m! A huge achievement! Well done Alex.
