U13 FA Cup Round 2
U13 Football Team had their 2nd round of the Schools FA Cup at Gordon’s.
We started strong with F.Robinson scoring off our strong press in the first 3 minutes.
After that we dominated play but Gordon’s scored an unreal volley from a corner to make the score 1-1.
They then scored a break away goal just before half time to go in trailing 1-2. In the second half we had most of the possession and created many chances to score but couldn’t put the ball away.
After some great determination from the team, F.Robinson scored our equaliser from a corner.
We then could feel the game was in our hands and with 5minutes left E.Beaumont got put through on goal and slotted home the winner.
Round 3- here we come.
Hockey
U14 Tournament
On Thursday the U14 Hockey Team took part in the Tormead 6’s Tournament held at Surrey Sports Park. The round-robin format meant the team had five matches against Tormead A, Tormead B, Gordon’s, St Teresa’s + SWPS. An excellent start saw us win against Tormead B by 4 goals to 1, with some good teamwork and passing, with Freya S scoring three goals + Millie H one goal. Narrow 2-1 defeats against Gordon’s + Tormead A followed where the team had opportunities and were competitive in both games. A 3-0 defeat to SWPS and a 2-0 defeat against St Teresa’s (the two finalists) meant ND were in the 5th/6th play off match against Tormead B and the team put in a big final effort to win 1-0, with Freya S again scoring to take her tally for the tournament to six goals.
Well played to everyone on a good afternoon of hockey.
Team: Aliya C (GK), Michelle E, Fran S, Leah P, Daisy S, Freya S, Ester J, Millie H, Elsie F (captain)

U12 & U13 Manor House League
U12
U12 : Isabella H (capt), Emma F, Lexie H, Lottie W, Bella K, Bella M, Harriet F, Alice C
This match was our first U12 Plate fixture in the Manor House League and against Rosebery at Home.
A really convincing and effective performance by the U12’s to win the match 23 – 7. Overall all players defended really strongly gaining possession throughout the match and getting it to the shooters. The 8 players rotated to ensure everyone played at least ¾ of the game.
The opposition awarded MVP to Lexie H.
U13
U13’3 : Martha T (capt), Florence S, Annabelle L, Hettie P, Charis W, Bea C, Elisabetti M, Aoife C ,Poppy O, Chloe G
A very close and exciting Manor House League match which Notre Dame won 8 – 7 in the last few minutes of the game.
U16 A & B v SWP
U16 A and B played two matches against SWPS who had to bring an U18 and U16 team to play us this week.
U16 A – Preeti G (capt), Ciara S, Rebecca P, Miila E, Alexia W, Rebecca H, Evie H, Caitlin M.
Our U16A team was pitted against SWPS U18 team in this match. Despite the experience difference, Notre Dame were completely in this match for three quarters where the scoring was only in SWPS’ favour by 3 goals. A concerted effort and outstanding performance by all 8 players with considerable turnovers and great attacking play. SWPS eventually won 24-10 with the score-line not doing justice to our U16A team.
Alexia W was voted Most Valuable Player by the opposition.
U16 B – Gracie H, Lara D, Stephanie W, Chloe G, Jess M, Dorothy P, Emma M, Poppy C
Our U16B team played against SWPS’ U16A group of players, and as the U16A for ND had done, so our U16B team played incredibly well and consistently to see the scores at half time level at 8 all!
Despite the effort and commitment of the U16B team, SWPS managed to pull ahead and eventually won 24 – 15.
Both U16 teams showed tenacity, resilience and excellence against the older and more experienced teams.
