Rowing
Sasha had a very busy start to the summer holidays with rowing!
On 9th July, she took part in Kingston Regatta, winning the WJ15 2x with her partner.
On 15th July, we travelled to Nottingham National Watersports Centre for British Rowing Junior National Championships. Sasha had been selected to row as part of Kingston Rowing Club’s WJ15 4x+ (quad scull) and WJ15 2x (double scull).
Sasha’s first race was in the WJ152x time trial – the girls put in a super performance to finish second out of 38 National crews therefore qualifying them for the A final in the afternoon.
After a quick rest, Sasha was back on the water for the WJ15 4x+ time trial – again, the girls performed incredibly well to finish third out of 30 National crews, qualifying for another A final in the afternoon.
The first final was the double sculls – Sasha and her partner raced brilliantly to secure a super silver medal!
After the medal presentation, Sasha was back in the quad for their final – another great race ended up with the girls winning a well deserved bronze medal.
Winning 2 medals at British Juniors was a fantastic end to Sasha’s WJ15 season and we are looking forward to a successful WJ16 season.
Hockey
Charlotte M and her team (Surbiton Hockey Club) represented Kingston at the London Youth 2022 Olympic Park Hockey Games. They won gold from the whole tournament across London competing over 2 days with many teams. It is the first time Kingston has won gold for the U14 so a great achievement!
Gold trophies presented to the team by International Olympic players.
Many of the U14 girls in the team are coached by Mr Fred Mannering at Surbiton Hockey Club!
