This week a group of budding Year 6 coders put their skills to the test by taking part in Astro-Pi: Mission Zero!
The girls were set a challenge to create code which would use the colour luminosity sensor in the new Mark II Astro Pi computer’s Sense HAT to run their program.
They selected an image and created colour variables to display the coded image using an 8×8 LED matrix display.
This was their first attempt at writing a Python program which required maximum concentration and accuracy!
Their programs will be beamed up to the ISS (International Space Station) for the astronauts on board to enjoy.
They will all receive a special certificate showing exactly where the ISS was when their program ran!
Well done girls!
