Dear Parents
It is so lovely to see the sun shining this week – especially as our students are now at the end of the exam season so they can enjoy the better weather!
As we approach the end of the school year there are lots of trips and events happening. Year 12 Geographers have had two fieldwork days – one urban and one coastal – as a Geographer myself I know how important and also how enjoyable these trips are! We were delighted to host a joint concert of music GCSE students with Halliford on Tuesday here at ND – all the performers were amazing! Year 9 had a whole day’s careers education working on a Young Enterprise challenge – there were some very impressive products being designed and the collaborative group work was super to see. As I write, Year 7 are exploring Windsor Castle with the history department and our French trip has departed safely this morning (very early!) for their visit to Bordeaux. The teachers are keeping me updated with their adventures – they will be meeting students from our sister school in Bordeaux as part of their visit which will be wonderful. I have visited Bordeaux a number of times as that is where the Order to which we belong was founded and seeing the places where St Jeanne lived and worked and where she began the Company of Mary Our Lady is such a privilege.
I hope to see many of you next week at the Lower School Play, which Years 7-9 are preparing for with such dedication, and also at our Year 13 Leavers’ Mass and Dinner. I won’t be able to attend Sports Day this year as it is my daughter’s graduation up in the north of England, but I know it will be a super day as always.
Wishing you all a wonderful weekend
