This week’s assembly was all about International Women’s Day
Mrs Hunt explained to the girls that International Women’s Day (March 8) is a global day celebrating the social, economic, cultural, and political achievements of women. The day also marks a call to action for accelerating women’s equality.
The theme for this year is #AccelerateAction
We can be anything we want to be! Our interests and abilities are what matters when thinking about what we can do in the future, not whether we are a boy or a girl. If we work hard at something, we can achieve it!
We remember those who have done or are doing incredible things to make life fairer for women. It is also a day in which we learn about how we can live in a way that respects the rights of all people and makes the world a fairer place.
