The Boy Who Loved Everyone

Love has been in the air this week! The Wise Owls, Caterpillars and Infants have shared heartwarming story of “The Boy Who Loved Everyone” during their library lessons.
“I love you,” Dimitri tells everyone, from his friends at nursery to the ants in the playground. But why doesn’t anyone say it back? Dimitri worries no one loves him, until he discovers there are many ways love can spread through the world. An uplifting story about the power of kindness.”
We have lots of books about love in the Prep Library.

Chatterbooks

Chatterbooks started off their morning with a Harry Potter Escape Room! The girls collaborated to solve 6 maths puzzles to crack the code which revealed the letters needed to spell out what the wizard needed to escape the Room of Requirement!

Opening Lines We Love

Children have been sharing the opening lines from their favourite books. Hearts can be lifted up to reveal the title of the book and the author.

Prefects were hard at work during the Year 5 Library Club. Library Prefects and Wellbeing Mentors ran a Winnie the Pooh Escape Room. Wellbeing Mentors showed off their finger crochet skills!

World Book Day 2025

World Book Day takes place on Thursday 6th March, and we hope you’ll join us to celebrate! The theme this year is

We will have lots of fun activities taking place throughout the day!

Dress Up as a Book Character

We are inviting children to dress up this World Book Day as a character from their favourite book. It is an exciting way for children to get book recommendations from each other. We encourage you to use things you already have at home to make a creative costume.

Reception to Year 3 Competition:
During half term, Children can create a collage / picture based on their favourite book. Please ensure that your child’s name, class and title of the book is written on the back of their entry.

Year 4 – 6 Competition:

Create a story in a jar! Children are invited to recreate their favourite storybook in a jar! Jars need to be labelled with the child’s name, class and title of the story.

Entries for both competitions must be brought to school before 28th February.

There are lots of prizes to be won!! Prizes will be awarded during the World Book Day Assembly.
