Year 6 WWII Songs
What a fantastic finish to Year 6’s World War II Song topic in the chapel on Monday!
The girls have been working together in groups to provide ensemble backing for their four World War II songs – ‘White Cliffs of Dover’, ‘Run, Rabbit, Run’, ‘Keep the Home Fires Burning’ and ‘Wish Me Luck as You Wave Me Goodbye’.
Well done to all the instrumentalists who practised their parts diligently and worked hard on them with their instrumental teachers. This topic also involved the groups arranging their own music from lead sheets and organising percussion sections using classroom instruments. Groups in the two different classes then joined together to play the backing for the rest of the year group to sing to.
The recording session in the chapel was an uplifting occasion. Congratulations to all the girls for their fabulous performances, which can be viewed below.
