Y5 and 6 Gymnastics Team ISGA Competition

Gymnastics

ISGA gymnastics

Well done to the U10 and U11 girls, who took part in the ISGA Gymnastics Championships for the first time last Sunday. The girls travelled to Haberdashers’ Girls School in North London for the event.

We were entered into the two-piece challenge competition. The girls performed fantastically, improving on their scores in both vault and floor, comparing their scores from the last event.
A highlight would have to be Ogechi scoring 9.1 on her vault!

Results
U10
6th overall School
Annabel and Ogechi 10th out of 48
Clara and Thea 24th out of 48

U11
7th overall School
Eva was our highest placed finishing 8th
Amelie 23rd, Claudia 26th and Ana 39th out of 54

The overall results between all schools were split by such fine margins! We are so proud of the girls and we look forward to next year’s event.

Black Belt for Tamera

Last weekend Tamera had her black belt grading in Karate and she passed- she’s officially a black belt!

She’s been working hard for the last 6 years and her dedication, persistence and perseverance to keep going is inspiring. We are very proud of her.

Her Sensei said that this was the first black belt grading they have done since Covid and of the 1000 students he has taught, only 5 of them in the juniors have made it this far. So it’s an astonishing achievement. On Saturday she had her grading with 4 others in the juniors whilst the adults graded alongside them progressing to their Dan levels.

An intense and nerve wracking morning but she smashed it and we are so proud of her.
