C Team – SWPS won 6-4, MVP – Aoife C

D Team – ND won 4-1, MVP – Anastasiia I

U12 A – C v Downsend

U12A-C Netball Teams v Downsend

U12 A Team

This was a good competitive game for the girls, Downsend brought a strong team with similar skills to our girls, however with strong team work we were 4-2 up at the end of the first quarter.
During the second quarter the girls held on to their 2 goal lead putting into practice some of the skills learnt in training sessions.
It was a bit of a shaky start to 3rd quarter with goals not converting on centre pass, but the team pulled together and regained the ball giving us a second chance to score, the quarter ending 11-9.
Final quarter was by far the best, the girls really focused on the game finishing with a win 19-12.

MVP Lilly P as voted for by opposition.

Special mention for Amy C for her maturity on court and valuable advice she was giving her team mates.

U12 B Team

The team displayed great spirit in the first quarter of the match, leading 6 – 0. The girls took on coaching instructions and implemented them well.
There were numerous tips and interceptions which led to more goals. The girls remained focused throughout and encouraged each other positively.
The movement into space around centre court was excellent, which meant when the ball was intercepted by defense, the girls made a strong pathway to the attacking circle.
Each member of the team swapped out for a quarter to allow all players a good amount of court time, to win the match 17 – 0.
A fantastic effort from each player!

Attack POM – Erin
Defence POM – Michelle

U12 C Team

The NDU12s C – 15-2 win
MVPs of the match were Megan for her exceptional goal-scoring performance and Mila for her smart and effective defensive plays. A special shout-out goes to Martha, who kindly stepped in to support a Downsend player feeling unwell and did a fantastic job keeping the game going. When an injury occurred, Olive stepped up to the challenge, taking on the role of Goal Shooter and contributing at least three goals to the team’s impressive tally.

Well done, everyone!

U15 A – C v Howard of Effingham Home, 4.30pm.

Firstly, a big thank you to all the players for Notre Dame who were willing to move teams to ensure that we had 3 teams to play Howard, very sportsmanlike and supportive of each other!

A Team

U15 v Howard of Effingham

The matches between Howard and Notre Dame are always very competitive and of a high standard. Our U15 A’s this year have been having a very good season and this match continued that trend.

Howard got a good start in the first quarter and finished 4-3 up. With a straight 7 players for Notre Dame, the team stayed in the same positions for the whole match and those connections really paid off with us going into the final quarter 17 – 8 ahead after a particularly strong 3rd quarter.

Despite great play by Howard in the final quarter which they won by 1, Notre Dame finished the match 23-15 with Valentina and Michelle named as the MVP’s by the opposition. All 7 players worked together really well and put a lot of defensive pressure on Howard to win interceptions and turnovers.

A great match.

B Team

U15 B v Howard of EffinghamU15 B v Howard of Effingham MVP

Howard showed great strength throughout the court and in all quarters in the B Team match, they were incredibly respectful and played lovely netball. Notre Dame, captained by Jemima played hard throughout the match with some very positive team performances. However final score went to Howard 26-8. The MVP’s as voted by Howard were Khushi and Ariella, well done both.

C Team

A special thank you to all the players in the C team who came together at the 11th hour due to a significant number of players not making it to the match. Captain Lucy did a great job in leading the team in a triangular match with Howard’s C and D teams. It was a good opportunity to play different teams in the one fixture.

Although the final scores did not go the way of our C Team, all our players were committed and showed great teamwork at all times. MVP’s as voted by the opposition were Isla and Niamh, both of whom have received this accolade a number of times this season now, well done to both players.

U14 A – B v Prior’s Field Home, 4.30pm.

Notre Dame U14 A and B played a match against Prior’s Field with each of the teams switching over each quarter.

It was a highly competitive game of netball with both our A and B teams doing well in their respective quarters on a very cold evening!

Final score ended 10-8 to Prior’s Field but Notre Dame won the third quarter 4 goals to 1 and drew the last quarter 2- 2 so nothing between the teams. Some great defensive play by both sets of players.

The MVP’s as voted for by the opposition were in the A Team Martha T and Jennie N, with the B Team MVP’s Maya L and Arina G.

A good night of netball to end the half term!

Sports Posts (1) - 1st XI Hockey v SWPS

The girls were left a little short by team mates but the bare 11 played some really good hockey. The link up play and the work rate was fantastic and the girls were rewarded with a great goal from Darcey. The game continued with a lot of really good quality possession forcing the SWPS goal keeper into some really good saves. The second half SWPS came into the game with a higher press, but still we were able to create some great chances but could not quite get the finish. SWPS had counter attack that they clinically finished and this brought a bit of momentum to their game and right at the death against the run on the play they scored a winning goal. Player of the match was Emily.

It was lovely to see the girls play all together over 3 different year groups!

NDAs 2-1 Win.

A great game with lots of chances for the girls. They played some lovely link up play and were able to score two goals from Evelyn and Olivia. Player of the match were Harriet and Poppy.

NDBs 7-0 Loss.

The B’s were unfortunate to come against a couple of very strong players in the SWPS team. They created some good chances but could not convert. Player of the match was Emilia D.
