U12 C and d Netball v St T

Netball

U14 A – D v St Teresa’s

On Monday afternoon the U14 netball teams had matches away at St Teresa’s School. The A, B + C teams had tough competitive games but persevered in their efforts and will have learnt a lot from the matches; the emphasis now in training will be on tight marking of opponents and the importance of defence for all players on the court. The D team had a very evenly contested game and worked very hard throughout and managed to secure a 2-1 win.
MVP awards for each team, as voted by the opposition, were as follows:
A Team MVP – Martha T / Jenny N
B Team MVP – Ella N
C Team MVP – Maya A
D Team MVP – Layla E

U13 A – C v St George’s

A very well drilled St George’s played some great netball and won the match 32 – 10. Notre Dame U13 A were able to come away with a huge amount of invaluable learning against a very competitive side. Sometimes it is better to play against a very strong side rather then when we win very easily. Some strong individual performances too from a group who continue to develop. Thanks to Captain Bella M.

MVP – Lexi H

The B Team also had a tough match final score ND6 – St G 18

The C team faced a well-drilled St. George’s side, resulting in a 25–1 loss for Notre Dame. Kyra and Ava delivered standout performances, with Ava scoring the team’s sole goal. Despite the scoreline, the game was far from one-sided, with marginal gains proving to be the deciding factor. In the second half, the team showed more confidence, highlighted by Kyra’s excellent interceptions.

U12 A – E v St Teresa’s

A and B

Our U12 A and B’s played competitive match play against each other due to the unavailability of St T’s teams. This was a great experience for our players who had nearly 90 minutes of game time. As a result, the teams played each other and then were mixed up together too, a great afternoon of netball!

C and D

D team lost 7 – 0  - MVP  Naya and Lizzie

U12 E

As a school we were really excited to have been able to add our U12 E team into the fixture schedule at the request of St Teresa’s but unfortunately on the day they were unable to field the team. Instead the team also played competitive netball with other girls in the year group.

Fixtures Week Beginning  January 2025

  • 29 January: U12 A – B Away at St Teresa’s Tournament, 1 – 4pm.
  • 29 January: U15 A – C Away at Claremont, 4.30pm.
  • 30 January: U13 A – B Away at St Teresa’s Tournament, 1 – 4pm.
  • 30 January: U14 A – B, Home v Claremont, 4.30pm

As we continue with Spring Term and the focus on more netball fixtures, I would like just to clarify that students will frequently be moved around teams and that they should in no way be concerned about that, particularly in years 7, 8 and 9. We have a lot of players in the same positions so it is important that we are able to rotate and give as many students a chance to play as possible. Those girls who attend after school Netball Clubs will also potentially be developing quicker than those who just play in Games but that is not a barrier to getting selected.

Whilst Notre Dame always asks for as many teams as possible for our netballers to play (so we can include as many students as possible), we are reliant on other schools to reciprocate.

There is a lot of netball to look forward to this term and I look forward to meeting as many of you as possible.

Please remember to check SOCS for team selection!
