Netball

It has been a very busy netball week with our U12’s, U13’s, U14’s and U15’s all having match play over the last few days.

U12 A – B Away at St Teresa’s Tournament

U12 A and B Netball Teams at St Tournament

On 29 January, our U12 A and B’s took part in St Teresa’s Netball Tournament, a great opportunity for the players to get a lot of match play during the afternoon.

A Team

We had a challenging tournament having 4 of our matches back to back which was tough for the girls.
However, with that in mind, they played well as a team and their fitness was good. The results do not really reflect the effort by the girls:

Results

A Team ND V St Teresa lost 3-9, ND v Manor House lost 3-10, ND V SWPS LOST 6-8,  ND v Howard draw 8-8 , ND v Tormead lost 5-16

Amy C won player of the tournament for ND as voted for by her team.

B Team

The U12 B Team had an exciting and competitive tournament, showing great progress and determination in each match.

The first game saw Notre Dame take on SWPS. It was a challenging start, with the team adjusting to the pace of the tournament. Despite their best efforts and growing confidence, the game ended in a 2-9 loss. However, the team began to find their rhythm and work more effectively together.

In the second match against Howard of Effingham, the team showcased their improved confidence and teamwork. With better movement and strong passing, Notre Dame secured a well-deserved 5-1 victory. Their attacking play was more fluid, and their defensive structure was solid, allowing them to control the game effectively.

The final match against St Teresa’s proved to be the toughest challenge. St Teresa’s played with intensity and precision, putting Notre Dame under pressure. Despite making some excellent interceptions, the team struggled to transition the ball efficiently to their shooting end, resulting in a 1-9 loss. However, their determination and effort were evident throughout the game.

Overall, the team demonstrated progress across the tournament, growing in confidence and skill with each game. A special mention goes to Amelia B, who was awarded Player of the Tournament for her outstanding performance in Goal Defense. Her exceptional interceptions and ability to win back possession were crucial for the team.

Well done to all the players for their hard work and perseverance!

U15 A – C Away at Claremont

It is great to be able to secure matches against a wide range of schools this year.

A Team

A very successful match again for this group of players who are working incredibly well as a unit.  Captained by Michelle E and Julia M, the A’s won 15 – 7 with all players taking to the court.  MVP’s were Michelle and Julia.

whilst the match score didn’t go our way against a very athletic Claremont B, our girls worked really hard together and enjoyed the match.  A win to Claremont 10 – 4 with Niamh and Ariella named MVP’s.

C Team

It was a really strong performance by our ND C’s demonstrating great team work which resulted in a win 22-4.  MVP was Isla G who played a great game.

U13 A – B Away at St Teresa’s Tournament

On Thursday 30 January it was the turn of our U13 A and B’s to travel to St Teresa’s for the Netball Tournament.

A Team

U13 A’s had a great tournament winning 2, drew 2 and lost 3, 2 of which were by only 1 goal! The team only lost to St Teresa’s who went on to win the A section by a single goal.  A great overall team performance with Emma F being voted Player of the Tournament by her team.
