London’s Burning, London’s Burning!
Year 2 were treated to a very special workshop this week! They time travelled back to 1666, to Pudding Lane in London, where the streets were filled with smoke and ash.
They were all given acting roles in the Great Fire of London and performed the dramatic scenes with enthusiasm. The girls enjoyed their trip to Pudding Lane, retelling the story of how the fire started, how it spread from building to building with firemen using water squirters and buckets, to finally pulling the buildings down in an attempt to stop the path of the fire. The workshop taught the class the sequence of events that unfolded as well as historical facts, all delivered in a fun and exciting way, which they loved! A fantastic workshop to introduce a wonderful topic.
